Things That Must Go - Annoying Cell Phone Habits

My official list of annoying cell phone habits.

1. Your cell phone ringing in church. Oh my heck! Are you a doctor who is "on-call"? Or some other high priority job that requires you to be seconds away from your phone? If not, leave it at home. 3 HOURS be disconnected from it...I promise you won't die. **If you still can't live without taking it to church. Put it on SILENT and for heaven sake, not many things require you to text during church. I am sure you waiting until church is over won't cause World War III.

2. Scenario: You are out with friends and you answer every call and/or are having a text conversation. Ummm...are we hanging out or do you need to leave? Pick up a call...maybe once...if it is your spouse/mom/911. Reply to a text when everyone goes to the bathroom or maybe twice...other than that and you are bordering on being rude.

3. When we are in Oil Painting class and your phone is ringing (and your ring is a really lame RAP song) and you just sit there and let it go off for 2 minutes and then decide to interrupt everyone else and answer it and talk really loud...other people might be flipping you off. Just so you know. And by the way, we couldn't hear Toni talking because you were practically screaming.

4. Work: Have your cell phone. Answer as many calls as you would like when you are working at your desk. Text. I do it. However, if you ring is so loud and you are 4 desks away and I can't hear the person on the phone then maybe you should keep it on VIBRATE. The rest of us do. Also, it is kind of annoying when you are in a meeting and you leave your phone at your desk and it keeps ringing and ringing and ringing. STOP IT. Oh, one other thing. Don't get annoyed when we tease you...it could be worse, we could hide your phone.

I am sure there are more, but those are the ones that drive me nuts lately!

**umm...I know I have been guilty of one or more of these. I hereby will amend my ways. B. I leave my cell phone at home a lot...because of the above behaviors. ***

I agree. There are a lot of annoying cell phone behaviors.
I admit I am sometimes guilty of bad cell phone behavior. You are not guilty of any of those? I will say that I have been hanging out with you at times and felt like if I left you wouldn't notice until your cell phone battery died.
You have been much better as of late though. I also have never seen you with your cell phone in church.
What about these I have seen:
...phone ringing in the middle of the movie--and then person answers it and carries on a conversation.
...during a temple session.
...talking on your phone while on the bus is fine--but not at top volume literally in my face.
...when riding your bicycle---it just looks wierd.

Oh, another good one is having speakerphone on so everyone around you can hear both sides of the conversation.

One of my favorite moments from "The Office" is when Jim & Pam put Andy's phone in the ceiling and he goes crazy hearing it ring over and over but unable to find it.

Trent, I already admitted to being guilty of some the these items in the past. Also, those days of ignoring you were over about 4 years ago. Some one has a REALLY long memory.

One other thing I just like to laugh at...MEN wearing their cell phone on their belt at home. Are you serious? How often do you need that quick of a response time? Put it in your pocket.

Dito, dito, dito. I one sat in church and watched the Stake RS president text her daughter who was on the stand the ENTIRE sacrement meeting. So annoying. And the people at work need to put it on vibrate, or take what is given. Get 'em!

I know who Tracie is talking about! So awful! I agree with the dinner/lunch thing and texting. Pick one and then don't invite me next time!

Yes yes and yes. Many a time have I been with a group of ladies and one of them is texting under the table. Hello? Are we 14 years old?

remind chay that his bus is a "sleeping bus"

what has happened to us?- I am from a no cell phone generation growing up- pagers were a new thing when I was in high school- and we survived just fine...Chay is super protective and wants me to always have mine with me- but sometimes I like it when no one knows where I am or what I am doing...
