(((Opinion Poll))) - Handwriting
(((Opinion POLL)))
I received a card today from a friend. She is from Idaho, while looking at her handwriting I was reminded of a "theory" a friend of mine believes. Now I want to put that theory to an opinion POLL.
Theory: Most UTAH girls/women have what he/she calls "UTAH" handwriting. Meaning most females from UTAH have a certain style of handwriting. **I have been accused of having UTAH handwriting, just an FYI**
Opinion Poll:
1. Do you agree with this theory?
2. Basis for the theory?
3. If you agree, then what is "UTAH" handwriting?
**Opinion expressed are safe. Meaning...I will still like you!**

Utah handwriting is the kind you use in scrapbooking. You write your a's like this: a. Not like an O with a tail. Also, the letters can be all different sizes, and it looks funky and cute, not scummy.
This is why I don't scrapbook.
I have New Mexico handwriting. That's where people read it and say, "Oh, is this Spanish?"
I so agree. Utah handwriting everywhere! All my coworkers...I tried to have it, but no matter what I do, mine always turns out looking like my mom's skinny, half-cursive letters. This is why I was never popular (o:
post a picture of your handwriting and I will determine if you do or not...
girl's from Utah used to be known for their hair...we would always joke about that in washington that Utahans always have big poofy hair- but I think that phase is over now...
I've never heard of it. The handwriting chelsea describes sounds like handwriting that cheerleader-types would use in high school. But most people I know (from Utah) don't write like that. I'd be curious to see what it looks like.
So what is it? If it's what your friend Chelsea is describing then it's probably the same handwriting that my boss (manager of Heartland Paper) has. I do not have anything close to it, and I've actually never heard of it called that. I thought you had to be cute and petite and a cheerleader to have that kind of writing --- soooooo not me. And haven't seen your actually handwriting since a letter you wrote to me in college. Don't remember.
I've never heard of Utah Handwriting so please do post a sample. I tend to print things more than cursive so maybe that's some Utah Handwriting.

It's so cliche to dog on Utah. It's all hooey.
Utah handwriting... I don't think so I write my a like an a not an O with a tail and I remember in elementary thinking I was totally weird because no one else wrote their "a"s like that.
Coming from a "teacher," I don't think that there is such thing as "Utah" handwriting. There are people that have good handwriting, and there are those that have terrible. Sadly, because I taught school and therefore handwriting, I always look closely at the way people write. Based on this experience, I'm sorry but I don't think that Utah handwriting exists. People that call it that are possibly just jealous because they themselves have cruddy handwriting. So they are looking for a way to try and make yours look bad, when truly it is not. I think that there is a connection to scrapbooking, and yes, many Utahns scrapbook, but in this day and age women don't do their own writing. They let a computer or Cricut do it for them. I personally think that handwriting skills are going down the tube because of it. Okay, I guess I should get off my soap box now! On a different note, there are supposedly studies out there that claim your personality can be known based on your handwriting- specifically its slant.
There is totally UTAH HANDWRITING. It exists. Not all Utah girls have it, but A LOT of them do. If you don't think it exists...you probably have never spent more than a couple of weeks outside Utah. No offense, but it is definitely a reality.
I personally like the Utah Handwriting. It has good character and makes whatever is written just a tad more interesting.
Hats off to Utah and the girls who have the UTAH HANDWRITING. Keep it up.
