Community Emergency Response Team

For the last 6 months I have been working on getting my emergency preparedness stuff together. Food storage, savings, etc. When I heard that my stake would be offering a C.E.R.T. class...and you get a free helmet, I signed up! I have only gone to 2 of he 8 classes and so far it has been AWESOME! Tonight we got our C.E.R.T. bags (see picture above) and we got to put out a fire with a fire extinguisher. I am totally prepared....for small fires.

*If I smiled the goggles cut into my cheeks.
**I am making the sign of our team: Single Savers.
These are some of my fun friends that are taking the class with me. Erin, Sarah, and Heather. I will post a group picture later.

Question: Who wouldn't want us to be there emergency responders? We are fun, dedicated, and FUNNY!

ok- this is so funny- you can put out our fire D'nell- and give us your savings...since we are here to help each other out right?

A free helmet...I would totally be all over that too!!! Ty has gotten very excited over his 72 hour kit and being prepared (I think it was the two weeks of earthquakes) and I only wish that it is as fun as your class!

I will totally call you when I have a small fire to put out. ...except that by the time you get here it will probably be a large fire. You'd better learn how to put those out too.

D'nell you rock!
Thank you for becoming part of the solution. Hopefully your new found skillset will never be needed. I am barging your blog to request a special favor, where did your team get the awesome CERT backpacks? I am a CERT Coordinator & am always searching for cool CERT stuff for our volunteers. The backpack we currently provide is totally cheesy, can you let me know where yours came from? troyteets(at)gmail(dot)com
Again, you rock.
