Taxes

I know the point of taxes is to work it so you don't have to pay anything and you don't get anything back. This is something I try to do each year. HOWEVER, I secretly like that I am horrible at figuring this out because I just got $800 from tax returns deposited into my savings account.
It is always a good day when you see a large sum deposited in your account.
Happy Tax Season!

You silly girl. That $800 is just money you overpaid to the government. Thats why they call it a refund. And, what exactly was the interest rate that the government paid you on that $800.00? 0%... yep, that sounds about right. ~ jl
I don't know that I ever associate the words "Tax Season" and "Happy" together! I too love getting that refund deposited. Logically, of course it was your money to begin with but there is just a certain amount of joy to get cash put back into your account.
I got a ridiculously large refund this year due to the extreme amount of money I paid in educational costs. Bring on the REFUND. That money is something that you should do something fun with. Save it if you must, but when the time comes to spend it, make it a good purchase. A great trip, that one thing you wanted but didn't think it right to splurge on, or put it towards a big purchase!
It has been rather sad these past few years for us....our income is in the negative, so no refund for us.
I remember one year, I worked and worked and worked and only got 6 dollars back from the government...apparently I didn't over pay the government, which is a good thing...but I was really hoping for a tax return that year...I'm glad that didn't happen to you, $800 sure is a great reason to love tax season! Get a low tax return is like selling back your books at the end of the semester and while you spent over $600 at the beginning, you only get back like $7 (this happened to me as well, and I was sooooo mad)!!
I've noticed that I'm happier than usual during this time of year....Why? Tax Refund...Yippee! Plus, having a birthday during the same time (D'Nell knows what I'm talking about)is just extra icing on the cake! A big fat money cake that is. Mmmmm Mmmmm!
