Tonight I went to see this musical. It was put on by Brighton High School (my roommate is a teacher there), and WOW! This was so funny, great music, great dancing, and a great story! Not to mention that the Brighton High students are very talented!
A little history...(taken from the back of my program)
"When Greg Kotis took his trip to Paris in the spring of 1995, he was planning on living off roughly $300 for his limited stay of a couple of weeks. He found upon arrival that he had not accounted for the public restrooms charging for their services. He quickly ran out of money and found himself of basic needs, namely bathroom privileges. Somewhere in the middle of scraping together some small amounts of cash and rationing his bathrooms breaks, he came up with the basic concept for Urinetown."
So simple, yet so complex. If you ever get the chance to see this musical...I would recommend that you don't pass it by! It will quickly become a favorite!
