Training for the Iron Woman

Okay, So I am not really training for the Iron Woman, but I am training...training to have the best body I can. Yes, I am not going to hide it anymore. I don't really like what I have let my body become, recognizing this is the first step to change. I am on a mission, I will go to the gym FIVE or more times a week and I will eat HEALTHIER. Within the next month, I will find an eating pattern that I can live with and that will help me achieve my goals...and I will stick to it for the rest of my life. I started this February 20, 2007.

Get ready for the new DELIA!

The old Delia is still really sexy...don't you agree?!? This picture was taken in Florence, Italy...I can't help myself when I see things like this...they crack me up!

TAKE THAT!

I would like to share an incident that happened several weeks ago. I had just started a new job, and really enjoying what I was doing. I was happy in my personal life, and really felt at peace. Then one day I get an email from my brother Joe. Not unusual, he emails occasionally. The title of this email was "Take That" there was not message just an attachment. Weird...did he want me to have something...or is he just being rude? Well what was the attachment? A picture of his son, my nephew, who I fondly call "Big Dave the Korean" or "Gim Bop." Normally I would have been really excited and happy to get a picture of David, since he lives in Arizona and I don't get to see him much. But not this time...he was sticking his tongue out at me...mocking his favorite Aunt! What could I do? I had to call and tell him I was disappointed...but then...instead of saying sorry or that it was a joke...he just tried to eat the phone! The kids these days...I think the parents are to blame!

Okay, so you don't think I am a mean aunt...let me tell you where the nicknames came from. "Gim Bop" is the Korean word for a California Roll. One of the only words I remember. My brother and his wife didn't have a name for their baby until it was born, or at least wouldn't share the name, and I had to call the baby something...so I called him Gim Bop. I think it is rather cute! Next, "Big Dave the Korean" David is named after my oldest brother who passed away in 1989 and people used to call him Big Dave because he was a big guy and he was a wrestler (he won a gold medal in 1976 at the Junior Olympics in Calgary Canada). One of the first pictures of saw of David (my nephew) he had just been born and was sitting up and he looked huge and he looked mean (I don't think birth is a pleasant experience)...I had pictures of him being a wrestler...so "Big Dave the Korean" was born...it is his wrestling name!

Getting Started

Yes, I know. I am not really a fan of being "on an internet site", but I think this will be good for me...and slightly fun. Yay! My very first blog...I am so proud! I am not sure this will be a regular thing...but who knows for sure.

When I was in Europe this summer I saw this statue and took about 6 pictures of it. It is in London outside a museum...I think the National Museum of Art (not really sure, the name has slipped my mind). Okay, seriously here...what the heck?!?! What is it? Man? Beast? Manbeast? Stubs for arms and legs, what looks like breasts and possibly a pregnant belly, and to top it off a mans head. If you know what this is, or what it is uspposed to represent I would like to know...because as of now I think it is kind of creepy and very disturbing.
