We are picking a theme for our Relief Society Presidency for 2009, something to remember and try to model this year. Our theme is:
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Then Lisa told us her theme for the year:
Philippians 4:11 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
With all these great theme's for 2009, I have decided I NEED A THEME. And this is where you come in...
I have some ideas but would like your ideas of quotes, scriptures, etc for my theme for 2009. We don't want a repeat of last years theme's of:
"Trials make you stronger" or "I never said it would be easy, I just said it would be worth it" or "Doing what you have always done will get you what you've always got"
So let's hear your ideas!

If your theme is anything other then "Be better then everybody else in the room." then you need a new theme. ~jl
I really like the theme idea. I think that as long as you keep positive life just always seems better. This is what I am working on this year!

When I you said theme for some reason the first thing that came to mind -- PROM theme, HOMECOMING theme -- in the version of a song.
This might be an idea too. My sister and I used to have a theme song of the summer that we would change every summer.
Perhaps you could also have a theme song for the year. This would have to be something that the lyrics and music really spoke to you. Just an idea. I am sure that DJ Dirty Nellie could find such a song.

So I've always had a personal theme, and usually don't share it with people because it makes them mad. But it's "only boring people get bored." When I first heard this I was a little mad myself, until I thought long and hard about the fact that it is true. Since then, I really can't think of a time that I've been bored...life is too short, try everything...and THEN when you're done you can be bored.
I don't have an ideas, but Phillipians 4:13 is my all time favorite scripture!
I need a theme too! If you come across any good ones that you don't use, let me know... I'll keep thinking as well. Does it have to be scriptural? There are some pretty good slogans out there, "Just Do It," "Because I'm Worth It," "The Power of Oxygen," just to name a few! Maybe my theme will be, "Don't be old!" :)
