Things That Must Go: Sleeping In

Okay friends, it's time to make a confession: I have a problem. I have gotten back in the habit of sleeping in.

I know, I know...shameful. I am working on it. Two days last week, I was actually EARLY to work! WAHOOO! Let's not talk about the rest of the days.

I know where the problem is: SNOOZING. Seriously, I get the best sleep after my alarm goes off. It's like the alarm triggers my body to instantly fall asleep. Weirdest darn thing ever.

Here's the biggest problem with sleeping in: my reputation. I am not a late person...but this sleeping in is starting to make me look like one! Also, lots of great things happen when you get up early (Being at the Farmer's Market early, working out and then having the rest of the Saturday to do what you want, and the peacefulness of the morning.)

So, now that I have confessed, I am committing to only 3 snoozes (instead of my average of 10-20), I am committing to wake up early on Saturdays (and Sundays), and I will be to work on time everyday next week (and hopefully subsequent weeks as well).

Go ahead and ask me about it. The answer will be "YES, I did it!"

If I had titled this post it would have said: "Things I want: Sleeping In!"

But, good luck to you. I agree that there is a special spirit in the morning. :o)

I never hit the snooze button until my husband introduced it to me! EVIL! Lucky for me now, my watch alarm gets me up in the early morning and there is no snooze option, I just get up. Good for you!

oh the snooze button

You and Chay should go on a snooze button challenge.

We are so bad. I put my phone really far away from my bed so I have to get up to turn it off...

I LOVE SLEEP. I think I will go to sleep right now.

Interesting. It seems that I have rubbed off on you, only it didn't happen until after you left. I think you're subconsciously trying to become me...

That IS the best sleep ever! I have that problem. I love sleeping in. After waking up at four every other day of the week, the 9 am Sunday church, which it should seem easy, just becomes unbearably early and soul-crushing.

When I lived in SLC I used to love knowing that Delia would be up and ready to go at the same early hour that I would.
I am shocked with the 'sleeping in' news.
I support your efforts to again arise early.

I'm a total snoozer too, I know you can do this!!! I am not a morning person at all but there is a peace that comes from waking up early. Enjoy it!

You have inspired me for the next week I will not get up at the last minute and run to my car hoping that the windows don't need to defrost.
